Dearly beloved

Nara (Part 2 of 4)

With sounds of the railway ringing ear to ear, bells whistling and doors closing. Silence comes roaring, and the last thing you can hear with eyes resting: “Yamatoji Line” and…

“Nara”

Uplifted by excitement, the momentum of stoppage, and a neck pillow, we’ve arrived at last. Within only an hour’s time, we found ourselves lost in a forest so en-deer-ing and a town filled with mana, which manifested itself into the blossom cloaked sky.

Nara is a living museum, rich in art and nature. As a tourist attraction, it is a fantasy blend of nature and people. For every souvenir store, every bus stop, and every person snacking, you’ll see deers shopping, waiting, and eating next to their human counterparts. A beautiful juxtaposition waiting to be experienced.

As the sun sets to rest for the day, we bowed to these creatures and they mirrored our gesture in return. Might’ve it been a mutual sign of gratitude or their way of saying goodbye? Regardless, I felt like I was in Kingdom Hearts for a day and I owe it all to the mana found only in Nara.
